Butterflies in November

Summary: After a day of being dumped - by both her husband and her lover - and accidentally killing a goose, a thirtysomething-year-old woman yearns for a vacation far from the chaos of her life. Instead, her tropical fantasies are dampened by her best friend's four-year-old deaf-mute son, Tumi, who has been thrust into her reluctant care. The unlikely pair start on tentative footing; she doesn't have the slightest maternal instinct, and Tumi is an introspective oddball. But when he choose the winning numbers for a lottery ticket, they set off on a road trip with a glove compartment stuffed full of their jackpot earnings. Along the way they encounter a string of eccentric locals and peculiar locales, including lava fields, a cucumber farm, an Estonian choir, a handsome falconer, and both of her exes desperate for another chance. And before reaching their journey's end, she must learn to balance unanticipated responsibilities with newfound independence. What begins as a spontaneous trip will surprisngly and profoundly change the way she views her past and charts her future.
